Students and staff at The Compass Academy, part of Hope Sentamu Learning Trust, are celebrating a glowing Ofsted report – with inspectors rating the school ‘Good’.
The report highlights how the school has made huge strides forward in recent years, with staff setting “high expectations for pupils’ academic progress”, and students’ individual needs well supported. Ofsted said that this has created a positive environment where “good learning attitudes are promoted”.
Throughout the report, inspectors praised a wide range of areas where the academy is going above and beyond to ensure all students can thrive, learn and reach their full potential.
Jacqui Thompson (Principal) said: “I am thrilled with today’s report from Ofsted and the fact that we are now rated a Good school. The superb progress that the school has made in recent years is something we have known to be the case for some time, but it is still wonderful for it to be official.”
“It really has been a team effort and every member of the school community has made a huge contribution to the schools’ success – our brilliant staff, our parents and of course our wonderful students, while we also receive excellent support from the Trust. We strive to make a real difference to the lives of every single one of our students and it is so great to have this officially recognised by Ofsted.”
Helen Winn, CEO of the Hope Sentamu Learning Trust, added: “I want to say a huge congratulations to the whole school community at The Compass Academy on this overwhelmingly positive and well-deserved report.”
“The Compass Academy fully exemplifies our Trust’s vision of providing every student with every opportunity to thrive and live their lives to the fullest. I look forward to seeing the school continue on its strong upward curve.”
