Pupils at The Compass Academy will learn from many varied enrichment activities. Pupils have the opportunity to build their resilience and endurance skills through trying new activities like gaining sports leaders’ awards, boxing and rock climbing.
Enrichment can, and does, happen in our classrooms too. The Compass Academy takes the opportunity to teach our pupils about current and world affairs on a regular basis. This is in addition to themed teaching of British events and traditions. Our programme is also designed with enrichment for all pupils in mind.
Wide and varied enrichment experiences are available outside the classroom. There are many enrichment activities that pupils and parents can organise and do on their own, at the end of the school day, weekends and school holidays.
Trips and visits are essential to providing a broad and well-rounded curriculum. They encourage resilience, determination and challenge pupils to get outside of their comfort zone. Compass Academy pupils have the opportunity to take part in various trips and visits, in excess of those they are entitled to attend as a result of the rewards policy.
