Family Support

At The Compass Academy, we have a dedicated Family Liaison Officer (FLO), Debbie Coyle, who supports families through their time with us.

Debbie has worked at The Compass Academy for over 20 years and is also our Child Protection Coordinator. As the Family Liaison Officer (FLO), she can be a listening ear and offer support, advice and guidance to parents/carers and families around specific issues you may be struggling with.

For example: 

• Being worried about your child’s behaviour. 
• Being worried about your child ‘s emotional or social wellbeing. 
• Support around adjusting to changes within the family home. 
• Helping them with anxiety and building self-esteem.
• Support and signpost to more specific and targeted services in the local community 

As well as the supporting children and families role, Debbie will also be supporting the school to promote good attendance. She is here to reassure you and help your child to achieve excellent attendance. Your child’s attendance should be in excess of 95%. Therefore, if you are struggling to get your child into school, please contact Debbie to see what support is available to prevent this from escalating.
